Teens could vote immediately upon completion of 18 years in Sri Lanka

Legal provisions have been made for persons who have attained the age of 18 years to be given the right to vote by a supplementary electoral roll before entering the main electoral roll.

The Election Commission has stated this in a statement.

Accordingly, as the first stage of this, citizens who have completed 18 years of age during the period from 01.06.2021 to 31.01.2022 i.e. those who were born between 01.06.2003 and 31.01.2004 can apply for registration in the Electoral Roll by entering it in the YC form.
