The spread of coronavirus among children is on the rise, said Dr Deepal Perera, a paediatrician at the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital in Colombo.

He added that the school system in the country could be closed again due to this situation.

Meanwhile, Deputy Director-General of Health Services, Dr Hemantha Herath, Media Spokesman of the Ministry of Health stated that if the number of corona infections continues to rise, the school system will have to be closed first.

He added that if the number of infected people increased further and there was no alternative, they would have to restrict travel restrictions.
