South African white president dies

Former South African President FW de Clark has died. He was 85 years old at the time. He is also the last white president to rule the country.

Nelson Mandela, the pioneer in ending apartheid in South Africa, was released in 1990 during his reign.

In 2020, it was confirmed that President de Clark had cancer. He served as Head of Government of South Africa from 1989 to 1994.
