A 16-year-old schoolboy was killed and another seriously injured in a road accident in the Ulukkulam area in Vavuniya, police said. It has been revealed that the student was traveling on a motorbike on the Ulukkulam-Vavuniya road when he collided with another motorbike and fell into a lorry.

The schoolboy and the other motorcyclist who were in a critical condition in the accident and the boy has died after being admitted to the Vavuniya General Hospital.

The cause of the incident has not been revealed yet. The deceased has been identified as Hansa Dilsan Mihiranga, a 16-year-old student of Sirisumana Vidyalaya, Ulukkulama.

The driver of the lorry has been arrested following the accident and Ulukkulam police are conducting further investigations.
