Sri Lanka has signed a joint statement prepared by China expressing concern over the human rights situation in the United Kingdom.
The joint statement was presented at the 47th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The Chinese delegation in Geneva said in a statement that It is an honor to speak on behalf of a group of countries. We express our deep concern over the human rights situation in the United Kingdom. Racism, racism, hate speech, phobia and related violence have long existed in the United Kingdom.
The Chinese delegation said the discrimination had been seen in the history of the United Kingdom since the trade of slave Africans through colonialism.
