The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) staged a protest at the main entrance of the Parliament complex today.
Party leader and Opposition Leader MP Sajith Premadasa also participated in the protest.
The SJB members had staged the protest stating that the Government was violating the fundamental rights of the public to stage protests.
“Arrest us if you can, we have all the right to protest taking necessary health precautions,” Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said.
Meanwhile, the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) staged a protest at the Akuressa Town today.
13 Protesters, including two former JVP local Government members, were arrested for staging the protest in violation of the quarantine law.
The protest was held over several issues, including the increase in fuel prices and issues over fertilizers for farmers. (NewsWire)
