Despite travel restrictions, Kurunegala Mayor Thushara Sanjeewa’s birthday was yesterday.
According to the reports, Kurunegala Police had prepared a birthday cake for the occasion.

The mayor cut the cake and presented it to those present. Senior police officers in charge of the area were also present at the occasion.

Police Media Spokesman Ajith Rohana stated that a special police team comprising a Superintendent of Police has been appointed to investigate the incident.

He further added that this act is against the quarantine law and should not be done by the police.
