Heavy rains cause overflowing Kalu Ganga from the Ratnapura area. Currently, the water level in the city of Ratnapura and its has exceeded the level of minor floods.

The water level in the river continues to rise. People in the low lying areas have been advised to seek shelter as the rains continue to fall in the upper reaches of the river.
