Former Commander (Retired) of the 57 Division Major General Jagath Dias says that 95 per cent of those involved in terrorism are not members of the organisation willingly and should be allowed to commemorate their children who died in the war.
In an interview with the program in ada derana, he said it was important to set up a proper mechanism to ensure as some politicians use these commemorations to achieve their narrow ends in politics.
“They fought with the army. We found evidence from bunkers during the war that they had come willingly. These children are the children of the country. Those parents should have a celebration. They became terrorists after having children ” he said.
