Sri Lankan prime minister Mahinda Rajapaksha spoke about the war commemoration in the parliament today. He gratitude all three forces for removing terrorism from the country. He also mentioned the forces that contribute when controlling the corona pandemic.

He reminded of how the public celebrated this victory after suffering from many years filled with fear and danger.

“War heroes sacrificed their lives to give you freedom and bring peace to the country. Therefore, we will not betray the victory achieved by sacrificing thousands of lives at any moment, no matter what the challenge. We value this country.” He said

He also mentioned keeping the trust of three forces on facing the pandemic as they will surely defeat this as well.
