All scheduled surgeries at the Colombo National Hospital have been canceled.

The Director of the hospital Kumara Wickramasinghe stated that this step was taken due to the increase in the spread of the corona virus.

However, he said that further emergency surgeries are being carried out and the outpatient department, cardiology department, emergency department and neurosurgery unit of the hospital were being maintained as usual and that corona patients would be admitted to two separate wards for treatment.
