Indian vandalised Buddha Statue died in prison

An Indian national who was remanded in for vandalising Buddha Statues has died in the prison today morning,Prisons Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said

He was remanded in the Wariyapola Prison and he died after being admitted to the Wariyapola Hospital.

The Kuliyapitiya Police arrested the suspect last month for damaging heads of some statues of Buddha in Rathmalewatta area. He was residing in Sri lanka since 16 years after marring a Sri lankan women.
