There is no food for sixty lakh people in Sri Lanka- Latest UN report

A recent report released by the United Nations shows that more than six million people in Sri Lanka are uncertain about their next meal.

 According to the report, 6.26 million Sri Lankans or three out of every 10 households are in doubt about whether they will get their next meal.

The World Food Program also points out that this situation has arisen due to a large rise in food inflation, rising fuel prices and commodity shortages.

The report claims that 61% of Sri Lankans have already reduced their food intake and reduced their intake of nutritious food.

According to the report, about 200,000 families are currently at risk and the number may increase further in the future.
