Fuel Crisis in Sri Lanka -Cattle and horse cart transport services begin with High demand in Sri Lanka

Steps have been taken to operate a horse and Bullock cart transport service in the Jaffna District as a solution to the transport disruption caused by the severe fuel shortage.

From ancient times people used to travel by cart and with the advancement of technology, the number of carts decreased with the advent of vehicles.

However, in the current scenario, many people have to look for alternative solutions for transportation and cart transport has come to the fore again.

In the Jaffna District, some people have taken steps to activate the cart service using horses for urban transport and the owners say that this service will be in high demand in the future.

The people of the North further say that in the future, the cart service will be reactivated using cattle in many parts of the Northern Province.
