The economic crisis in Sri Lanka-The CPC has completely stopped releasing fuel

The Ceylon Petroleum Private Tanker Owners’ Association states that the placing of fuel orders has come to a complete halt with effect from noon yesterday.

They say that since Sunday is a holiday, there will be no fuel transport on that day as well and accordingly no fuel transport will take place until Monday.

The President of the Association said that no bowsers will go to the filling stations yesterday morning except for refuelled vehicles.

Meanwhile, Minister of Energy Kanchana Wijesekera has stated that the planned arrival of fuel tankers to Sri Lanka will be delayed and that a date for their arrival in Sri Lanka cannot be guaranteed therefore fuel will be released only for essential services shortly.
