Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has been officially informed by Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa that he will resign from the office of President as stated earlier.

The Prime Minister’s Media Unit confirms this.

 President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had previously informed the speaker that he would resign from the presidency on the 13th.
