Sri Lankan Navy arrested 12 Indian fishermen along with a trawler

The Navy says that 12 Indian fishermen have been arrested along with an Indian trawler who was fishing illegally on the coast near Pedurutuduwa, Jaffna.

A group of officers belonging to the Northern Naval Command arrested the Indian fishermen while they were fishinonin Peduruthuduwa beach.

The Navy took steps to take the Indian fishermen along with the fishing vessel along with the fish they had caught and bring them to the land according to the existing sanitary measures.

The Navy took steps to hand over the 12 arrested Indian fishermen to the Jaffna Fisheries Inspectorate for further investigation.
