What is happening in Sri Lanka?- The Token system for fuel is no more valid- Electricity and Energy Minister

Electricity and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera says that the token system that was introduced in the provision of fuel was a temporary one related only to the 23rd and 24th of June and is no longer valid.

Attending the special press conference held today (03), the minister said that the decision was taken on those days to prevent people from staying near filling stations without fuel.

It is said that it will be abolished in the background because the token has become a business near the IOC petrol stations.
