The government has decided to extend the operation of Sri Lankan Airlines to a Middle Eastern country.
The government thinks that the airline needs more fuel to run the airline and if the country that produces the fuel is given to the company, it will be able to operate more easily.
The company is currently operating with a loan balance of over Rs. 31,000 crore. The government intends to restructure as this is no longer sustainable.
The Minister in charge of the subject Nimal Siripala de Silva also stated that this work should be completed soon
