The statement made by Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella that Sri Lanka ranks 4th in the world in terms of corona vaccination is untrue, reports the Daily Mirror quoting FactCheck.

Although the Minister’s statement reveals that Sri Lanka belongs to the top four countries out of 194 countries in terms of vaccination, the ‘Fact Check’ investigation reveals that such a statement is untrue.

They point out that Sri Lanka has the 57th highest number of vaccinated countries in the world.

Sri Lanka has been fully vaccinated with 64.41% of the total population and Brunei ranks first in vaccination with 90.75% of the total population fully vaccinated.

The state of Brunei has also vaccinated the largest percentage of people over the age of 16. Its percentage is 116.83%.
