The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) says that it will make a statement after 11 am today (24) regarding a power cut in the face of the current fuel crisis.
The Sapugaskanda power plant is currently in a state of complete inactivity due to a lack of fuel.
As a result, the national grid has lost nearly 110 megawatts of electricity.
Also, hydropower generation is at a minimum due to the dry weather conditions affecting the island.
