A man has been beaten to death with a brass object in the Oliyamandiya area in Badulla. The 25-year-old deceased had two children from his first marriage some time ago and he had recently taken a 21-year-old girl and married her as well.
According to a complaint lodged by the wife of the first marriage, the relevant parties have been summoned to the police and settled.
The father of the second wife had taken the man and his daughter to his house in a van and it has been revealed that the assault had taken place after an argument that had taken place there.
The man was killed in the attack. Five people have been arrested in connection with the incident, including the father, mother and her younger brother of the second wife.
