Quality analysis from Moratuwa University on gas explosions

The University of Moratuwa says it will submit a “Quality Analysis Expert Report” on gas accidents to the State Ministry of Consumer Protection this week.

Prof. Shantha Walpolage, Head of the Department of Chemicals and Processes, told that the report would be prepared by a four-member expert committee.

A scientific report on the relevant gas accidents is to be presented here.

Following the reports of gas-related explosions and fires, the Consumer Affairs Authority had taken steps to send gas samples taken from various parts of the island for laboratory tests.

Twelve laboratory reports related to this are to be sent to the University of Moratuwa for further tests.
