Indian Deputy High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Rakesh Natraj Jayabaskaran, Head of the Indian Consulate in Jaffna, paid a courtesy call on the LTTE.
The organization has participated in a ceremony to open a flower nursery in Jaffna and distribute plants wearing the Niyagala flower.
The event was held at the ‘Kittu’ or Sangilian Park in Nallur, Jaffna on the morning of the 20th and was organized by the Tamil National Green Movement to mark the planting month of November.
Deputy High Commissioner of India Rakesh Nataraj Jayabaskaran was the Chief Guest at the event which was organized by the former Minister of Agriculture of the Northern Province Ponnathurai Integration at Sangilian Park.
The Deputy High Commissioner of India and other invitees were received by the organizers with a Nigella flower, the flower of the LTTE.
The Deputy High Commissioner of India also participated in the plant distribution program organized with the participation of the drought victims.
The event will be held from the 20th to the 26th at the Sangilian Park and will also feature the LTTE’s Heroes’ Week.
