The Netherlands government has taken steps to reintroduce safety masks due to the rapid spread of the covid epidemic in the country.
With effect from November 6, the country’s prime minister has issued a statement requiring the public to submit a “corona permit” certifying that they have been vaccinated or a PCR test certificate that they have not been infected with covid when entering public places such as gymnasiums and museums.
The Netherlands reached the peak of the epidemic last July and has since eased several social distance restrictions. It was then that the viral infections in the country began to rise again.
