Government will allow import vehicles to country again

The government is focusing on a methodology that would allow the import of vehicles into Sri Lanka.

Central Bank Governor says the focus is on allowing people who agree to pay taxes in dollars to import vehicles.

However, he said that further study was being done and that it was not possible to allow the import of vehicles as usual today and tomorrow as there was a problem with the dollar reserves in the country.

However, he said that he was ready to consider the matter after studying the existing factors in the future.

He further explained that he had already started a special program to revive the country’s economy in a short period of time and that some people would have to go to decisions that they could not be happy with during that journey.
