According to Professor Neelika Malavige of the Department of Molecular Biology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, the vaccine aims to make the corona distribution a common cold.
She said that the Delta variety has become the most prevalent variety in the world and all other varieties have dropped by as much as one per cent.
She also says that the corona vaccine will have to be given to certain groups every year in the future.
She said this while she was addressing a media briefing in Colombo.
