Sri Lanka has requested the United Arab Emirates to provide a relief plan for the supply of oil to Sri Lanka.

External Affairs Minister GL Peiris Mr. Peiris has made this request to the Minister of Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates.

He made the request during a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

The Foreign Minister made this request while explaining the challenges currently facing Sri Lanka due to the Corona expansion.

The Minister said that he was happy to assist the United Arab Emirates in this request and also proposed the establishment of a strategic framework to take it forward.
