Laksala has signed a business agreement to open a showroom in the United States

For the first time in the history of Sri Lanka, Laksala has signed a business agreement to open a showroom in the United States.

It is our duty and responsibility to introduce local and foreign markets for the traditional products of local handicraftsmen, strengthening the concept of building a “people-centered economy” enshrined in the President’s “Vision for Country Building Prosperity” policy statement.

The main objective of this is to replenish Laksala’s sales revenue, which has been reduced by 90% due to non-arrival of foreign tourists due to the current Kovid epidemic situation, under a new business plan and to empower local producers.

Accordingly, the Sri Lanka Handicrafts Board under the full coordination and contribution of the State Ministry of Batik, Handicrafts, Textiles and Indigenous Products with Laksala and the Chartered Agency of Boom Lanka Batik and Gifts LLC (Ceylon Gallery) The agreement was signed at the Laksala Chairman’s Office in Thummulla.
