A ceremony hold at a Kovil violating quarantine rules

Kotagala Medical Officer of Health K. Sudarshan stated that legal action will be taken before the Hatton Magistrate’s Court against the governing council of the Dimbula Bogahawatte Kovil which is administered by the Hatton Kotagala Medical Officer of Health for holding a ceremony on the 22nd.

The medical officer said that he had received information that the ceremony had been held with the participation of a Hindu priest without the approval of his medical officer’s office and without following any quarantine health instructions.

A large number of people had attended the event and one of the participants had recorded on his mobile phone how no one was wearing masks.
