Covid 19 current situation in Sri Lanka-Oxygen Cyliner sold for 1.5 lacks in black market

It has been reported that a cylinder containing 47 kilograms of oxygen will be sold for Rs. 1.5 lacks for patients who need oxygen.

The National Drug Regulatory Authority states that such sales are illegal and that legal action will be taken against them.

At present such cylinders are priced at Rs. 80,000 only for licensed companies in the country.

However, there are reports that corona infected people are in this trade illegally on social media due to the increasing need for oxygen.

The authority states that there is no legal permit in the country to sell oxygen to anyone who is not registered.
