Lohan Ratwatte, Minister of State for Prison Rehabilitation and Management, Jewelery and Gems, says it is ridiculous to quote prices without properly assessing the world’s largest cluster of gems recently found in the Kahawatta area.

He also said that setting prices without a gem assessment has created a huge crisis.

He further states that an accurate assessment need to be done in this regard and then the value will be made public and he added that a number of foreign countries had asked him about the gem and he was wondering whose interest it was to set such prices.
