Another ship has caught fire near Sri Lanka. According to the Navy, the fire broke out on a container ship travelling 480 nautical miles east of the Kirinda Maha Rawana lighthouse. The Navy said that the fire had started in the engine room of the Liberian flagged cargo ship The ship was on its way to Singapore from the Port of Colombo when it caught fire near the Straits of Malacca. Two young men were killed while using the Central Expressway without permission.

Two young men were killed when a motorcycle collided with a car on the Central Expressway which is still under construction in Narammala area. They had entered the area without permission and were speeding towards Kurunegala when the car caught fire after the accident. Five people were in the car at the time of the accident and two of them have been arrested and investigations are underway to arrest the fugitives.

A child born to a pregnant mother infected with Kovid has died in Greasweston Estate in Kotagala, Medical Officer said.
