A child born to a pregnant mother infected with Kovid has died in Greasweston Estate in Kotagala, Medical Officer said.

He further stated that a woman at the Graceweston Estate in Talawakele had given birth at the Lidula Regional Hospital and the baby had died and the mother had been transferred to the Nuwara Eliya Base Hospital.

The mother of the child was tested for Rapid Antigen and confirmed to be infected with Covid.

Investigations are underway to find out about the associates of the mother and the associates found in this manner will subject to self-quarantine after P.C. R tests
