Colombo district The District Divisional Secretaries, Grama Niladharis, Samurdhi Officers and Development Officers have been temporarily resigned from corona injection duties.

Colombo District Secretary Panaradeep Yasaratne stated that the decision was taken due to the protest of the Government Medical Officers’ Association against the performance of their officers in performing their duties.

He also said that the Government Medical Officers’ Association had sent a letter to the Health Secretary saying that other officials including the Divisional Secretaries were unnecessarily interfering in the vaccination program.

The District Secretary further stated that there are reports that those programs had become a mess yesterday due to the withdrawal of his officers from the vaccination programs in the Colombo District.
