The United States has issued a warning to their citizens to immediately suspend travel to Sri Lanka due to the rapid spread of the corona virus.

The State Department said in a statement that Sri Lanka could be the target of a terrorist attack and that public places such as tourist destinations, supermarkets, hotels, religious places and airports could be targeted.

They say that in the event of an emergency, there will be difficulties in ensuring the safety of Americans in remote areas of Sri Lanka, and that they will suspend travel to Sri Lanka as a precautionary measure.
