International food photo contest; Family-meal image wins
Chinese photographer Huaifeng has been named as the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year for 2021. It was for her image titled Taste, taken in Licheng, Shanxi.The photo is showing a young family joyfully preparing a meal at home in China. The competition is held for the10th year, and it has received almost 10,500 entries from more than 70 countries around the world and the winners announced online via a livestream event.
Australian jailed for filming a injured dying police officer: Richard Pusey
An Australian man Richard Puseyhas received a 10-month jail sentence for filming and mocking police officers while they lay dying after a crash. He was pleaded guilty to the rare charge of outraging public decency and judge called his actions as “heartless, cruel and disgraceful”.BBC The 42-year-old man who is a resident of Melbourne has already been in custody for nearly 300 days, and because of that he will complete his sentence within few days. “The mortgage broker had been speeding in his car on a Melbourne freeway last year when he was pulled over by four officers.While they were making his arrest, all four were struck by a lorry that had veered out of its lane.Senior Constables Lynette Taylor and Kevin King, and Constables Glen Humphris and Josh Prestney died at the scene.Pusey had been standing a few metres away and avoided the crash, but afterwards pulled out his phone and began filming numerous videos, some of which ran for more than three minutes.The court had heard that Pusey stood over and taunted Senior Constable Taylor as she remained pinned under the lorry. Experts said she was most likely still alive at the time.”BBC

Australia has decided to impose a temporary ban on passenger flights from India due to the high prevalence of COVID 19 infections. Anuradhapura Hospital is overcrowded with corona patients – Intensive Care Unit is also filling up
It is reported that the corona treatment facility at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, which was reserved for corona patients, was overcrowded. The 130 beds reserved for the average corona patient in that unit are filled and the six beds in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital are also infected. Most of them were identified as corona infected from other districts and sent to Anuradhapura hospital.

Therefore, the gates will be open for entry to any vehicle from 6.00 am on the 28th until further notice at the Kottawa Exchange on the Expressway and tickets will not be issued. Covid-19:Five more areas are locked down
Government has taken action to isolate five more Grama Niladhari Divisions in three districts. The isolated areas are as follows. Moneragala District – Wellawaya Urban Council Boundary, Veherayaya Kottamgahabokka, Buttala RahathangamaAmpara District – Uhana KumarigamaMatale District – Alugolla The move was taken to prevent further spread of corona due because of several infected people in the area; Army Commander Shavendra Silva stated.

Chinese Defence Minister arrived to Sri Lanka -General Wei Fenghe
Chinese Defence Minister General Wei Fenghe arrived in Sri Lanka for a two-day official visit last night. He will make discussions with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and senior officials in Sri Lanka. This is the second-highest visit by a Chinese official after senior Chinese diplomat, Yang Jiechi’s visit Sri Lanka during last October.
