Coconut oil seized in Dankotuwa also contains carcinogenic aflatoxins

The two coconut oil browsers seized in Dankotuwa recently contained carcinogenic Alfatoxins, the Customs Department stated.

Nearly 27,500 litres of coconut oil were seized in the two browser on 30thMarch and samples obtained from the coconut oil confirm the presence of aflatoxins, the Spokesman to the Customs Department said

The Sri Lanka standards Institute (SLSI) conducting tests on coconut oil released to the local market and tests were conducted after allegations were raised for coconut oil with carcinogenic coconut oil being released to the local market.
