Sri lankan Student had died in Japan

Sri lankan women has in a immigration detention center in Nagoya Japan. She was dead while she was being detained because of her visa has expired.

According to the statement from the Sri lankan Embassy in Tokyo , the deceased women ( 33) and her death was reported in March 6. She had arrived Japan in the year 2017 as a student and it was revealed as she was a resident from Gampaha.

She had been at detention centre since August 2020. Minister Roshan Gamage led a team to visit the detention centre in Nayoga and they had met the authorities. They had discussed about the death and the authorities had promised to conduct an impartial inquiry about the case. Also they vowed to send the repot as soon as possible.

The women had complained the authorities in the detention center few times about the food she received while she was satayed there. She had also complained that that food made her weak.

Reason for the death was yet not founded authorities had reported that she had examined by a doctor at least six times and had hospitalised at least two times.

The embassy spokesman states that her family had informed about her death and the dispatch of the remains will be taken accordingly
