Train derails inside a tunnel in Taiwan

It is reported that around 34 people have died in after a train derailed insid a tunnel in Taiwan.Train was carrying around 350 passengers when the incident happened. Taiwan’s Central Emergency Operation centre reported, because four carriages inside the tunnel that are badly damaged rescuers are struggling to access the targeted points. More than 72 people were found injured and Emergency rescue mechanisms have been put in place for the sick and injured. Rescuing those trapped is the highest priority now as unaffected carriages walking along train tracks with their belongings. This happened at the beginning of annual Tomb Sweeping festival in Taiwan which is a typically high traffic period.
State Minister Arundika Fernando admitted that he had requested to transfer ASP Eric Perera

State Minister Arundika Fernando confirmed that he had sent a letter to Minister of Public Security Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekera in December 2020 to transfer Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Eric Perera. He was attached to Wennappuwa police station. State Minister further explained why he had sent the letter of requesting to the transfer as various allegations raised by the public about the Some actions of the ASP. “ASP Perera is a resident of Wennappuwa and should be transferred because according to the law, a Police officer cannot work in a station in which he is a resident of. Also, he was not attending the development committees in the Wennappuwa and Dankotuwa areas and the public was annoyed about that. During these committees, I was concerned about drug related issues and the big time drug dealers who handle the drug rackets. ASP Perera was never concerned about the big time drug dealers; he only arrested small time drug dealers. He also tried to arrest some of these small time drug dealers under fake charges. How ethical is that?” , State minister said.

His brother and another man was arrested by Queensland police after a big mission as both men were took 11 hour journy to the sea to collect the drugs. COVID Vaccination temporarily stopped

Sri lankan government has decided to temporarily suspend the vaccinations program for COVID 19 with effect from Wednesday night, State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control Sudarshani Fernandopulle said. She explained the reason as a deley of the AstraZeneca vaccines as Serum Institute of India recently suspended exports of the vaccines. Even the State Minister of Pharmaceutical Production, Supply and Regulation Professor Channa Jayasumana had assured about the receiving the vaccine stocks on time now government is in a fear of shortage of AstraZeneca for second jab. Government has decided to suspend the vaccination programme as a result of the delaying but the WHO has advised to administrate the second jab soon after 12 weeks of the 1st jab.

Suspicious coconut oilcontainer seized; Dambulla : None of the coconut oil samples are carcinogenic – Coconut Development Authority Dambulla police had seized a container suspected to be containing contaminated coconut oil unfit for human consumption, police spokesman said.The container of coconut oil was taken into the police custody. Also, The Coconut Development Authority reported that none of the oile samples submitted to them for testing contained the carcinogenic Alfatoxin. Piyasena Edirimanne Director of Coconut Development Authority said that Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) had handed over 50 samples of packaged coconut oil currently on sale in the market to its authority for testing and this reported after a proper laboratory testing.

3 women killed after a container topples over a three-wheeler in Nuwaraeliya

Three women were died and a man was injured collision between a container and a three-wheeler in NuwaraEliya today (April 1) The lorry was coming from behind crashed and toppled on three wheeler NuwaraEliya Welimada main road. The three wheeler was going towards Welimada and the lorry too was heading towards the same direction crashed on to the threewheeler from behind as a result of the driver of the container not being able to control the vehicle, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said. The driver of the threewheeler was severely injured and admitted to the Nuwara Eliya Hospital. New bodycam footages of George Floyd death; I am not a bad guy

A Minneapolis court has released new police bodycam footage of George Floyd pleading with officers during his arrest. He was saying: “I’m not a bad guy” for few times and the camera shows that police officer Derek Chauvin stucked his knee on Mr Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes, and Mr Floyd begging not to be harmed saying he had done nothing wrong. He also said on the clip “Please don’t shoot me… I just lost my mom.” and further after he handcuffed he continued to plead that he is not resisting them and “will do anything you tell me to”.
