BTS “Butter” music video reached 500 million views on YouTube.

The official music video of BTS  “Butter” hit 500 million views on YouTube at 9:15AM KSTtoday (August 7th ).This marks BTS’s eleventh music video to reached 500 million views on youtube. The music video first reached 108.2 million views within 24 hours, and it broke the YouTube records of the “most viewed music video in 24 hours”. “Butter” ranked #1 on the U.S. Billboard ‘Hot 100’ chart for seven consecutive weeks, and nine weeks in total and it is officially the longest-running #1 song on the ‘Hot 100’, in 2021.

Easter attack Sri Lanka – Easter attack bombers father has been acquitted of all charges

Aladdin Mohamed Muwat, the father of the suicide bomber who died in a bomb blast at St. Anthony’s Church in Kochchikade during the Easter Sunday series, has been acquitted of all charges. The suspect was remanded for about a year and a half in connection with the incident. The Magistrate has ordered the release of the suspect following instructions from the Attorney General to release him from the case as he is no longer being prosecuted. The CID had earlier sought the advice of the Attorney General to take further legal action against the suspect. Accordingly, the Attorney General has informed the CID that no further action will be taken against the suspect as no evidence has been presented against him.

Person arrested for posting child poronography on the internet

An individual has been arrested in the Badalkumbura area for posting child pornography on the internet. The raid was carried out by the Police Children and Women’s Bureau. Police Media Spokesman, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated that about 500 obscene videos and photographs have been released on the internet. It is reported that the suspect has been using two fake accounts to add pornographic videos to the internet on a daily basis. The arrested suspect is a 25 year old man and is due to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today (07).

Ranjan Ramanayake infected with corona

Former Member of Parliament Ranjan Ramanayake, who is serving his sentence at the Angunakolapelessa Prison, has contracted the corona virus. He has been admitted to the prison’s treatment center, according to the Prisons Department.

Sri Lanka reported 98 covid 19 related deaths

Another 98 corona deaths are confirmed by the Director General of Health. Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to corona infection in the country has risen to 4,919. It marks the highest number of corona deaths in a single day.

Ministry of Health Media Spokesman Dr. Hemantha Herath stated that the Delta Infections were identified by randomized research on a very limited number of Infections. He said that this was by no means the maximum number of data available in the country and that the number of delta infections was much higher. Nayanathara Wickramarachchi diagnosed with corona infection

Nayanathara Wickramarachchi, who plays the lead role in the “Dewani Inima” of one of the most popular teledramas in the country, has been diagnosed with corona infection. She mentioned this on her social media account. She says she is currently under house quarantine and urges those who work closely with her to take the necessary health measures.

Covid 19 current situation in Sri Lanka – Private hospitals are overflowing .. Corona patients are not accepted

Private hospitals in the country that used to provide treatment for coronavirus infections have stopped accepting new patientsdue to the fact that their treatment facilities have exceeded their maximum capacity. The private hospital in Sri Lanka treated the infected in several leading hotels. However, these measures have been taken as the maximum capacity of the hotels has been exceeded and it is no longer possible to provide health facilities for them. Meanwhile, it is reported that even for the  upper class infected people in the country find very difficult to find hospital beds although they tried to find hospital facilities using their high connections.

Covid 19 current situation – Sri Lanka will going towards the situation in India within next two weeks

The Lankadeepa newspaper reports that it has become very difficult to maintain hospitals due to the fact that more than 6,000 people in the health service have contracted corona. In this context, the report states that within the next two weeks, Sri Lanka will not be second to the situation prevailing in India in recent times.  The report further states that the number of infected patients in many hospitals has exceeded their capacity and there is a shortage of space in mortuaries.
