Nirupama Rajapaksas name is on the ‘Panadora’ list which contains names of people who hid black money

The American Journalists’ Association has revealed a controversial revelation that includes the names of world-renowned politicians and athletes who are hiding huge sums of wealth. Those articles were Named ‘Pandora Papers’, which contains over 12 million articles. The documents include the names of 35 current political leaders and about 300 government officials. The revelations also mention former Sri Lankan minister Nirupama Rajapaksa and her husband Thiru Nadesan.

People infected with the corona virus will have long-term symptoms- University of Oxford

A recent study by the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom found that about 37% of people infected with the corona virus have long-term symptoms. The survey also found that women who were cured of a corona infection were more likely to show these symptoms. According to the report, their symptoms last for 3-6 months.These symptoms have been identified as,Breathing abnormally, Abdominal symptoms, Management Depression, Chest and throat pain, Cognitive problems, Fatigue Management, Headache, Muscle pain Other pain Etc. 

A massive protest will be held on the 6th of this month ,support the protest by hoisting black flags in front of their homes- The Ceylon teachers and Principals Association

The leaders of the teachers unions say that a massive protest will be held on the 6th of this month on the World Teachers’ Day in front of 312 education divisional offices throughout the country. Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union Joseph Stalin said that the protests were based on demands to resolve the issue of teachers’ salaries and ensure the right of students to education. The Ceylon teachers and Principals Association is requesting people to support the protest by hoisting black flags in front of their  homes.

Protests intensify against Brazilian president

 Thousands protest in Brazil against the president.According to foreign media reports, the protests were organized by opposition parties and trade unions. According to foreign media, the protests are currently taking place in about 160 cities.  Protesters point out that the president should resign for a variety of reasons, including the president’s failure to control the covid pandemic.

Sri Lanka women’s cricket team prepares for a tour of Pakistan

It is reported that the Sri Lanka women’s cricket team is in talks to tour Pakistan for a one day tournament. Relevant discussions are being held between the cricket authorities of the two countries and it is said that the tournament will consist of three ODIs. Prior to qualifying for the Cricket World Cup, discussions were focused on holding it as a tournament that both teams wanted.

Indian Foreign Secretary will visit Jaffna today

 Indian Foreign Secretary Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla, who is on a four-day official visit to Sri Lanka, is scheduled to visit the Jaffna District today (03). The Indian Foreign Secretary arrived in Sri Lanka last night (02) on a four-day official visit at the invitation of the Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs, Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage. The Indian Foreign Secretary was accompanied by three senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who arrived in the country on an Indian Airlines flight. The Indian Foreign Secretary was received a warm welcome at the Katunayake International Airport by officials of the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka and officials of the Sri Lankan Ministry of External Affairs.

Today is World Temperance Day World

 Temperance Day falls today (03). It is reported that nearly 20,000 people die every year due to alcohol consumption in the country. Sampath de Saram, human development director at the Alcohol and Drug Information Center, said about 50 people a day die from alcohol use.  Meanwhile, the Excise Department says that the excise licenses operating island wide should be closed today in view of the World Temperance Day.

Geetha Kumarasinghe request the President to pardon Ranjan Ramanayaka

I kindly request the President to pardon Ranjan now. He is not a murderer. Women have not been raped, ”s d MP Geetha Kumarasinghe. She said that she had earlier  requested President to apologized to fellow actor Ranjan Ramanayake in Parliament but those requests were regretted that it had not received a response. Speaking further Parliamentarian Geetha Kumarasinghe said, “Ranjan is one of my fellow artists. I had played the lead roles in the film with him. But it is sad that he is in prison today. Ranjan has not done enough to not forgive. However, I kindly request the President to pardon him now. If he is released, he will return to the arts and work. “

The body of a development officer who had been missing in Jaffna was found in a well in the Nawali area

The body of a development officer who had been missing for two days in the Sandilipay area in Jaffna was found in a well in the Nawali area last night (30), Jaffna Police said. The man, who worked as a development officer at the Kopay Divisional Secretariat, had left home two days ago to exercise. However, he did not return home and his relatives lodged a complaint with the police but the missing person was not found. However, after a resident of Nawali area saw a dead body in a well and informed the police about it, the police recovered the body of the person concerned and investigations revealed that the body belonged to the missing development officer. The deceased has been identified as Manikkam Jayakumar, 51, a resident of Sandilipay.
