The leaders of the teachers unions say that a massive protest will be held on the 6th of this month on the World Teachers’ Day in front of 312 education divisional offices throughout the country.

Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union Joseph Stalin said that the protests were based on demands to resolve the issue of teachers’ salaries and ensure the right of students to education.

The Ceylon teachers and Principals Association is requesting people to support the protest by hoisting black flags in front of their  homes.
