What is China getting ready for by building replicas of American warships?

According to foreign media reports, satellite imagery has revealed that China is building replicas of American warships. A full-scale replica of an American aircraft carrier is reportedly being set up in a desert area in northwest China’s Xinjiang region. The U.S. Institute of Satellite Technology has revealed that the area is being used for ongoing ballistic missile tests. Experts say they have created replicas of US warships in training to attack them.

The country will face a food shortage in the future – Basil Rajapaksa

Basil Rajapaksa, Minister of Finance has stated that only one third of the lands cultivated during the Maha season have been prepared for cultivation. He has pointed this out at a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa during a discussion on the fertilizer crisis.  Currently, paddy and other crops have been successfully prepared only in the Kurunegala and North Eastern districts and the Minister of Finance has pointed out with statistics. If the situation continues like this, the country will face a food shortage in the future, said Basil Rajapaksa.

The selling price of a gas cylinder in the market is in the range of Rs. 2500-3500

Due to the shortage of gas, traders are selling gas at various prices in the range of Rs. 2500-3500. Despite being sold at different prices, consumers are facing severe difficulties to obtain gas. Theshara Jayasinghe, chairman of Litro Gas, said the shortage would end in about a week as a ship carrying gas arrived. He also stated that 80,000 gas cylinders are released to the market daily.

Chinese fertilizer ship reaches Beruwala waters

The ship “HIPPO SPIRIT” carrying a consignment of Chinese organic fertilizer which was rejected due to the presence of harmful bacteria is currently anchored at the Kalutara-Beruwala sea border, the Marine Traffic website reports that. Harbor Master Captain Nirmal de Silva,  stated that he had not been informed that the ship was coming to the Port of Colombo. He added that although the ship could reach the port of Colombo to obtain the required supplies, there was no room for the consignment of organic fertilizer to land at the port. Meanwhile, Minister of State Dayasiri Jayasekara says that such a crisis has arisen about the rejected Chinese organic fertilizer due to a problem that arose during the preparation of the agreement.

The US opens airport for foreign tourists

The United States has decided to open its borders to foreign tourists from today (08) easing strict travel restrictions. Authorities say they expect a large influx of tourists into the country. One and a half years later, the US border was opened to foreign tourists. Accordingly, the travel ban imposed on fully vaccinated tourists from 33 countries, including the United Kingdom, China, India, South Africa, Iran, Brazil and European countries, will be lifted. It is reported that tourists must get a vaccine approved by the United States or the World Health Organization when visiting the United States. They must also submit a negative PCR test report obtained 72 hours before the flight and have been released from quarantine. U.S. officials say they expect a large influx of tourists into the country in the wake of the lifting of the travel ban. Once again, the spread of the covid 19 virus is on the rise, with the total number of covid infections in the United States exceeding 4.7 million. The total number of deaths due to the epidemic in the country is over 775,000.

Formula 1- Max Verstappen leads Mexico City to victory over Lewis Hamilton

Explosive drone hits Iraqi PM’s residence

An assassination attempt on Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadimi has failed. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of the Prime Minister’s residence in Baghdad.  However, it is reported that the Prime Minister was not at home at the time. According to foreign media reports, six members of the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Security Forces were injured in the attack. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

A new method to take refuge visa in Spain

Spain’s busiest airport has been closed for four hours due to an attempt by a group of people to enter the country illegally. A passenger on a flight from Morocco to Turkey has reportedly landed at an airport in Spain due to an emergency condition. At the time of landing, 21 passengers had escaped from the plane and 09 of them had been arrested. When the passenger was admitted to the hospital, the doctors confirmed that he was not ill. Accordingly, it is doubtful whether the incident was a deliberate attempt to enter Spain illegally. The Spanish security forces have launched a special operation to arrest the 12 fugitives, the first such incident in Spain.

India out of T20 World Cup
