When the summer get started our little enemies mosquito enthusiastically started their activities. Due to this heated sweaty summer become the peak time for mosquito activities. So it’s better to make a good review on the best ways to prevent mosquito bites.

Mosquito born diseases like malaria dengue fever and yellow fever were always on the topic. Because of that avoiding getting bitten by has always been a concerning topic. But after the researchers confirmed that mosquitoes carry viruses like the Zika virus the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) weighed on the guidelines for preventing bites.

1: Get rid of all the standing water containers near your home

Houses have many standing water containers like flower vases birdbaths and rain gutters. As mosquitoes can breed within 14 days ( 2 weeks) it’s better to remove and clean them properly. If your house or garden has a pond you can put fish that could eat mosquito larvae inside the pond. If you aren’t a big fan of fish better to use a water fountain or a waterfall. Due to moving water is disturbing the breeding cycle it will prevent mosquito breeding. Apart from that, you can put bacteria types like Bacillus thuringiensis kills mosquito larvae, but is harmless to humans and plants.

2: Keep mosquitoes outside of your home

Before doing everything you can use screens to the window and air conditioning to prevent them from entering the house. Also using a mosquito net hanging on the bed while sleeping will also prevent biting when you sleep. The mosquito nets,  which are treated with a time-release insecticide will be ideal if you are planning to go on a camping trip.

3: Wear light-colored clothing and ignore tight clothing outdoors.

Researchers confirmed that deep colours like black deep and red are attracted bugs more than other lighter colours. Because those colours stand out with the complexion of the surrounding environment it’s more favorable for the bugs. Also wearing looser fit thicker fabrics will protect your skin from mosquitoes than fit tight clothes.

4: UseĀ  suitable mosquito repellent

People are concerned about chemical mosquito repellents as many conspiracies go around. But as chemical repellents contain DEET, picaridin, PMD, IR3535 insecticide, are considered safe by experts. Not only that they are concerned they are safer for pregnant and nursing women, as well as there e babies over 2 months. But they advise paying attention to skin irritations and informing users to avoid spraying chemicals around the eyes and mouth.

5: Avoid the time they are active and stay inside

Experts suggest that the oil of the lemon eucalyptus tree is the best natural mosquito protection from the market. Also, the synthetic version of the oil, which is endorsed by the CDC as a repellent is famous around the market. But it’s not suitable for children under age 3.
