What happened to the airport borrowed from China?

According to various media reports, Uganda, which is facing a debt crisis, may lose its only airport.

In 2015, Uganda borrowed $ 200 million from China. It is for the development of Entebbe Airport, the only international airport in the country.

But due to economic problems, it seems that they have a problem repaying the loan.

Therefore, Uganda has proposed to China to amend the loan agreement, foreign media said. However, there has been no positive response and some reports have suggested that China may take control of Entebbe Airport.

The Ugandan authorities had obtained the loan from the Export-Import Bank of China. But Chinese officials say there has been no takeover of the airport.
