The owners of the major rice mills in Polonnaruwa have increased the price of rice once again.

Accordingly, the price of Kiri Samba rice has been increased by Rs. 30 per kilo and Samba Nadu rice by Rs. 15 per kilo, said an official of a major rice company.

With this price increase, a kilo of curry samba rice will cost Rs. 195, a kilo of samba rice Rs. 155 and a kilo of Nadu rice Rs. 130.

He added that the price hike was done in consultation with other major mill owners.
