A suspicious white van approach near to Thushan Gunawardenas house

Thushan Gunawardena, the former executive director of the Consumer Affairs Authority, has complained to the police that an unidentified group had approached his house in a white van and behaved suspiciously.

He said that he had lodged the complaint on the suspicion that his life was in danger due to this. He added that the van had arrived on the road behind his house last Thursday morning.

He said that he had parked the vehicle near the back gate of his house and a person who got out of it had checked the gate number and said ‘this is the house’ and a neighbor had informed him that he had returned.

He further stated that although he had lodged a complaint with the CID about a month ago that his life was under threat, no statement has been obtained from him so far
