Ranjan Request Presidential Pardon

The Samagi Jana Balawega has decided to demand the release of the former parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake, who is serving a four-year sentence with hard labour.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the party’s parliamentary group.

Accordingly, Samagi Jana Balawegaya Leader and Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa has stated that the request will be made by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

Also, MP Vedarachchi has decided to entrust him with the task of looking into the situation of prison inmates who are restricted from visiting the prison due to the corona situation.

 Accordingly, the Leader of the Opposition has sent a letter to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa requesting the relevant actions.
