The World Health Organization (WHO) warns that around 18,000 people will die of covid infections by January next year if the current number of deaths and infections in Sri Lanka continues to rise.

This is stated in a report prepared by the Sri Lanka Office of the World Health Organization with the participation of specialist doctors.

 The report was handed over to the Ministry of Health yesterday (12th).

A number of recommendations have been made to protect Sri Lankans from this situation.
Some of them are;
Tightening travel restrictions
Imposing district travel restrictions instead of provincial travel restrictions
Imposing curfews for a short period of time
Banning all public events for three weeks
Preventing public gatherings
Protecting health workers
Educating the public about effective communications programs
Infections and It recommends the correct death
Vaccination of those over 60 years of age.
